Dear CK,
Thanks for sharing you insights on Gaya St from property prospective. Just to share a few things here . The word ‘Gaya’ came from our local bajau word which meant big and that’s how the name Pulau Gaya came about as it’s the biggest island in TAR Marine Park.
It’s on this street that our Sabah Tourism Board’s building stand as you mentioned. Little do we know that this majestic stone building hidden behind an ungly coat of white paint is one of the only 3 stone buildings that survived the war. The other two were St Michael Church ( Catholic) in penampang and St Michael Church(Anglican) in Sandakan. In fact all the building in KK was flatten during the WW2 by the ally bombing except STB building and the Atkinson Clock Tower near the police station .
It’s on this street that one of the very first hotel after the war stand , Jesselton Hotel which adobted it’s name from the old city’s name Jesselton .
It’s also here where the railway track that ran all the way to the old pier or port at today Jesselton Point. The railway track is still visible there. ( Check it out).
Anyway ! just a few thoughts about gaya ST. !!

HI,
RM35K per acres is consider very high side?May I know where is the location of the land? You have to know;
1. Location of the land
2. Distance to oil mill
3. NT or CL title
4. Ages of the oil palm tree

All the basic information you must have. But my advise is that, if you are not in the line of plantation..better avoid. Happy Investing.

Recently, there was an invitation to KK for a land purchase of palm oil plantation.
Is it 30 ‘mu’ (in chinese) in area. The old couple owners said they are too old to man and would wish to let go the whole piece at MYR35,000 per ‘mu’ and an agent is being engaged by them. They claimed that there is already palm seeds collections of MYR18,000 per month. May I seek your wise advice about proceeding from here. Please email. Thanks.

Gaya Street is a “Signature Address” for KK city,i like the beautifull sunday market there. Lately,many old shop already convert to become modern “Signature Coffee Shop”.I like the “three layer tea” which rich with coconut sugar in the nearby Sugar Bun,fantastic!
